Since forming in Villa Park, IL in
1997, SHOWOFF has been down a sorted path of both ups and downs.
The band released their 1999 self-titled debut, produced by John
Feldmann (of Goldfinger) on Maverick Records and toured with the
likes of Everclear, Goldfinger, Rx Bandits, Allister, Marvelous
3, The Starting Line, Lucky Boys Confusion, Further Seems
Forever, Homegrown, The Bloodhound Gang and Midtown; with stints
on Warped Tour 1999, 2000 and 2001. The debut LP sold over 40k
and led to a 2nd LP produced by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World,
Finch, Creeper Lagoon) which was never released due to label
owership changes at Maverick. The band left the label in
2001/2002 with a solid follow-up album on the table that would
never see the light of day.
After previous attempts at
reviving SHOWOFF; Songwriter, frontman (and only original
member) Chris Envy re-formed the new incarnation of the band in
early 2006 and recorded their first new material in over 5
years. The “Waiting For You EP” was produced by Marc McClusky (Treephort,
A Small Victory) and is the band’s most versatile and cohesive
recording to date. SHOWOFF is on the road in support of the
“Waiting For You EP” on the San Diego, CA indie label Pacific
Ridge Records.
