Giving Up On Easy
(2010)

For Fans of: A Day At The Fair, Blink 182, The Ataris, Showoff

Style: The Back Pocket Believers produce a Pop-Punk sound to go along with a more mature Rock-like vocal approach. This amalgamation generates a melody that is both upbeat and meaningful, yet somehow stays grounded in the genre of Pop/Rock.

History: As with most bands The Back Pocket Believers started with an overhaul of a previous lineup, a new direction with the sound, and a complete change of identity. It took some work to get people on board with the name change, but once everyone realized The Back Pocket Believers were in fact the "old" First Strike, the snowball began rolling down hill. The band followed their change of identity by entering the studio in August of 2010 with a collection of songs that became Giving Up on Easy, an emotionally charged record that highlights the band's acceptance that not everyone is going to jump on their musical bandwagon. It's quite the opposite really, their record simply emphasizes the fact that they're perfectly okay with producing music that they love rather than music that will sell for the sake of selling. This kind of attitude has served to increase their fanbase as people enjoy the passion, energy, and showmanship that goes into furthering what many considered a dying genre in Pop-Punk.
